VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR COUNTY HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES ALLIANCE

Doña Ana County is seeking volunteers to serve on its Health and Human Services (HHS) Alliance, which serves as the primary advisory body to the Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department to improve the health status of Doña Ana County residents.

The alliance improves coordination and collaboration, nurtures public understanding, strengthens accountability, promotes informed policy-making and provides an opportunity for ongoing community input.

“Members of the Alliance have the opportunity to participate in border-wide issues,” said Health and Human Services Department Director Silvia Sierra, noting that the alliance considers a broad range of health and human services needs and facilitates direct lines of communication between internal departments and external agencies.

“Membership reflects a cross section of the community,” said Alliance Chair Tony Martinez. “The membership includes individuals with a wide range of strengths, abilities, experiences and resources found within the community.  Diverse membership enhances collaboration and helps the alliance develop a more comprehensive response to community needs.”

Doña Ana County is soliciting applications for the following vacant categories: advocate, consumer, educational or provider. To request an application for alliance membership, contact Laura Henry at the Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department at (575) 525-5834 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
